An interesting little pendant—rugged and dainty at once! It’s a ruggedly dainty little pendant…

A tiny bit of brass scrap metal from my catch drawer is cold-connected to a sterling silver back-plate using my own handmade sterling silver rivets. The back-plate is then textured with a special hammer, oxidized black and lightly sanded to bring the silver out a bit.

*Since these are handmade using scrap metals, please note that each pendant will vary slightly in shape, size, texture and color. This makes them all unique and one of a kind! Too small/big/light/dark etc.? Just contact Amber for a quote.

Chain:  18″ oxidized recycled sterling with my own raw brass “hook and eye” clasp, which is hammered lightly for strength.

Pendant itself measures approx. 1 cm tall, not including jumpring.

The first in a new line of my own handmade copper filigree necklaces, featuring 3 curled copper filigree “lima bean” shapes which are soldered and lightly hammered for added strength. The filigree is not cleaned after the soldering process, so the dark firescale is left as is for patina and contrast. The pendant hangs from a bright, coppery colored vintage brass “peanut” chain, is finished with a dreamy pale blue aquamarine bead and a dark honey tone hessonite garnet. Handmade hook and eye clasp, also made of copper. Filigree is buffed with museum wax to help preserve the patina.

Necklace measures approx. 16″ from the clasp to the bottom of the dangling gemstone charm.

A sweet, feminine addition to my “Bloom” line! This copper flower is hand-cut from sheet metal, then given a dappled texture across the surface, and a few lines to define the petals. It is then given a recycled sterling bail, also the “stamen”, and selectively sanded for a bit of contrast and depth. It comes on a fine recycled sterling silver chain, finished with my handmade hook & eye clasp.

Bloom measures approx. 1/2″ in diameter.

Another addition to the charcoal version of the Forget Me Not line… Here is a recycled sterling forget me not flower turned into a pendant, and given a light splash of 18k gold. A rich, dark charcoal patina is added to the silver, as well as the chain and handmade eye and hook clasp. This makes the gold “stamen” really pop!

All metal is 100% recycled sterling silver. No newly mined ore!

This necklace features a rare and unique nouveau vintage brass lotus piece from a factory in Rhode Island, left with it’s naturally acquired patina, which is absolutely gorgeous! Patina on these pieces vary, some are paler than others but all are equally stunning.

I sand the piece lightly for a bit of contrast and shine, and then drill and attach vintage brass chain. My handmade yellow brass hook & eye clasp finishes it off. The entire piece is then buffed with museum wax to slow down further oxidation, as brass does tarnish quickly with regular wear.

With just a little care as with all of my jewelry, this necklace will age gracefully with you and as this brass becomes even rarer, will become a lovely heirloom to pass down.

EXTREMELY LIMITED RUN. Once gone, I may never find this beautiful brass again!

A curved vintage brass focal is brushed and attached to vintage oval link chain, then finished off with a handmade hook and eye clasp. The front of the charm is buffed with museum wax, and the back is varnished.

Such a simple, modern and flattering shape! The vintage brass version is limited, but I will make something similar, and in different metals at some point in time. It will be cut from sheet with a saw, making it a bit more costly than this necklace.

Brass will tarnish quicker than sterling, but it’s easy to keep the brushed finish by using a bit of fine sandpaper. Grandpa, Dad, or the Hubby should have some knocking around in the garage, but if not, you can find it in your local hardware store.

Charm measures approx. 1.5″ wide, necklace 18″ from end to end.

This version of the Forget Me not necklace is bright & shiny silver, with a bit of contrasting matte white “fine silver”, which has been brought to the surface during soldering. The flower is cast from the real thing using recycled sterling silver, and each one is unique–just like in nature!
