Perfect for your Fall/Autumn wardrobe, this cuff bracelet features a gorgeous vintage style golden brass oak leaf that is soldered to 3mm wide brushed sterling silver. The entire cuff is shaped, formed, then tumbled for several hours to add strength.

Using a safe, non-toxic form of etching, the leaf is brought to a lovely golden matte finish, and the sterling to a soft satin. For a touch of shine and a subtle contrast, the leaf is selectively sanded and finished with burnished high-points. A matte fixative is applied to help prolong the finish. As with all brass, a warm patina will form over time with a little love from a polishing cloth now and then.

Leaf measures approx. 5.5 cm long. Bracelet shown in small (6″).

One of my most cherished pieces, which harkens to Ancient Greece, the Greek Gods & Goddesses, and even Athena herself.

Delicate old antique brass leaf branches are meticulously overlapped, then carefully soldered to a thick round sterling silver cuff. The cuff is flattened slightly with my planishing hammer to provide an even surface for the branches. All of the brass is aged by hand with a lovely dark patina, then sanded to bring out the gorgeous details. It is tumbled along with steel shot for a very long time to add strength and impart a bit of shine as well. Finally, the leaves are buffed with museum wax to help prevent further tarnish.

Brass tarnishes quickly with regular wear, but just a quick rub with a polishing cloth is all the care it will need to help keep it looking it’s best. This piece will age gracefully with the wearer, and makes a lovely bridal gift… Could also work quite well as an everlasting peace offering “I’m sorry” gift.
