Handmade from start to finish. For these earrings, I cut sterling sheet into squares, solder my own filigree wire shapes to the edges, and a single filigree teardrop and a copper curl to the front. 3 different color gemstones are then set by hand in sterling bezels: tiny grass green peridot, a deep coffee brown translucent smoky quartz, and one of my absolute favorites…the lusciously sparkly, peach colored Oregon sunstone. 3 more peridot stones are hung from the petals, and everything was oxidized to a deep charcoal, then selectively sanded. They are finally tumbled for several hours to strengthen the metal, as well as add shine. Add a light hand polishing and some of my heat formed sterling ear wires, et viola… Some really cool Bollywood-esque earrings just dripping with gems to twinkle lightly in the ear. Fun and colorful, but dark and mysterious all at once.
Measures approx. 1.25″, 3.175 cm from the top of the ear wire.
