Mixed Metal Fringe Earrings – Copper Sterling and Verdigris Vintage Brass

Mixed Metal Fringe Earrings - Copper Sterling and Verdigris Vintage Brass

Handmade by Amber Yearwood

Copper teardrops are cut and pierced using a jeweler’s saw and very fine blade, then textured with a hammer and drilled. Vintage brass tubes with my own rusty green verdigris patina swing below by way of my wire-wrapped heat formed sterling headpins.  All metal has been oxidized and selectively sanded to allow the raw metal to peek through. Hung neatly from my sterling silver earwires, which are also heat formed to reflect the spheres of the headpins.

Measures approx. 1.75″, 4.445 from the top of the ear wire.

All metal is recycled/repurposed. All metal (aside from the verdigris brass tubes) is oxidized and lightly buffed with micro-crystalline museum wax to help preserve the finish, This is not permanent, as it is my intention to have the metals change with time and wear, and a bit of love from your polishing cloth once in a while. Over time, this will only enhance the beauty of these mixed metals.

Made to order, so please allow up to one business week (5 days) to complete before shipping. The pair pictured is my personal pair. The pair I make for you will be very similar in size, shape, texture, and color, but not exact. This is the nature of all things handmade, making each element and piece unique. If you wish something made just for you in this style, simply request something custom.
