Black Sterling Orchid Earrings

Black Patina Orchid Flower Earrings

Handmade by Amber Yearwood

$86 USD plus s&h

Each component in these earrings is cut from ethical recycled sterling sheet metal, then formed, domed, and soldered using traditional metalsmithing techniques. They are tumbled in steel shot for several hours to add strength, and then given a heavy, dark black oxidized patina. Finally, they are buffed lightly with micro-crystalline museum wax to add a bit more of a matte finish, and to help preserve the finish longer. *Please note that patina will change over time, an aspect of my work that is not to be considered a flaw.

Due to the handmade nature of the item, each flower will vary somewhat, making each pair unique.
Measures approx. 1/2″ from the top.

Look for the BRIGHT version, too!

*PLEASE NOTE that I only use solder WITHOUT cadmium or lead in my soldered pieces, and a natural non-toxic “pickle” to clean the metal after using the torch. All of my raw metals (wire, sheet, etc.) are recycled/reclaimed metal. When oxidizing, I also use liver of sulfur. No harsh chemicals.*
