This 3 dimensional lotus flower is cut by hand from recycled sterling sheet. It is formed, carefully layered and soldered to my own handmade bail, which has a small sterling sphere at the center.
The outer petals are burnished and polished for a bright shine, and matte white “fine silver” is left deep inside the petals for a soft, subtle contrast. My handmade hook and eye clasp is wire-wrapped to the ends of the chain.
Lotus measures approx. 12mm in diameter. Necklace approx. 18″ long.
*PLEASE NOTE that I only use solder that DOES NOT contain lead or cadmium in my soldered pieces, and a natural non-toxic “pickle” to clean the metal after using the torch. All of my raw metals (wire, sheet, etc.) are recycled/reclaimed metal. When oxidizing, I also use liver of sulfur. No harsh chemicals.*
